Wakatipu Medical Centre is a community general medical practice situated in Frankton. It serves patients from the wider Wakatipu basin, stretching Glenorchy to Gibbston Valley and as far south as Athol.

The practice has with 3 doctors, Dr Val Miller and Dr Nigel Thompson and Dr Tracy Murgatroyd.

We employ 5 nurses and, in addition we have 3 medical receptionists covering the surgery opening hours of 8am to 5.30pm each day.

WMC began in Frankton in 1994, a few doors along McBride St from where it is currently located. Dr Tom Milliken established the practice with Dr Valerie Miller joining him in 2001 and Dr Nigel Thompson in 2005. Dr Tracy Murgatroyd joined at the end of 2010, prior to Tom Milliken's departure early in 2011,

Wakatipu Medical Centre achieved General Practice Cornerstone Accreditation in 2008 having met the Royal New Zealand College of General Practitioners standard for services.

Wakatipu Medical Centre is a traditional general practice, catering primarily for local families. We offer a range of medical services including immigration medicals, mole removals and travel vaccinations.
